arrival lunch...and some room to run

much as we left, when warren and i landed back in pensacola, we met ben for lunch. i must note that i am finally beginning to see (and acknowledge) some of the beauty of this place. their downtown historic/waterfront district is especially a charismatic place...and it's there that we met ben for lunch. i had noticed several places I would like to try over the past few weeks' drives through, and this place (Hub Stacey's) seemed like the most "manly" of them...i.e., it seemed as though ben would enjoy Hub Stacey's more than the Dharma Blue Cafe!

the view from the square...

close up of the restaurant front...

the restaurant was great....kind of a bar type restaurant (but safe for warren, considering it was the noon crowd!)...it's essentially a specialty sandwich shop. very...nay, extremely casual...and quite tasty, if not at all healthy.

but the best part of our lunch was the park in the middle of the square. after being cooped up in the baron, warren was ready to stretch those legs!

poised to run...

still fascinated by ceiling fans...even wtih all the room to run!

i thought this little alleyway of trees was beautiful. liked the view.

but then i looked around for my child...and spotted him sneaking off...

because he had spotted the swingsets that i had told him didn't exist!! that boy has an eye on him. no matter what he says he sees, don't doubt him...he sees it somewhere!

so swing he did! after responding to the cries of "higher! higher!!", i ran around to snap these shots. he was having a BLAST, as you can tell.

welcome "home" to pensacola, little man...
