this morning

a quick excerpt from this morning's devotional:

Let the wicked forsake their way, and the unrighteous their thoughts; let them return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord.
Isaiah 55:7-8

"When people hurt us, we often keep our distance from them. Or worse, we try to get back at them. We hardly ever do something nice in return! Yet God does just that when he forgives our sins. God doesn't always do what makes sense to us. God does what's loving and merciful instead, even when we do something wrong. We didn't earn his love, but God gives it to us freely anyway. God gave us Jesus as well, who gave us his whole life - not because we deserve it, but because we needed it."

I am thankful for a devotional that speaks to so many things I need to contemplate.
I am thankful for a devotional that specifically mentions ways of thinking, which I am taking to be an affirmation, and an encouragement (how's that for positive thinking!!)
I am thankful for a husband who gets out of bed at 3am to go soothe a screaming babyman.
I am thankful for quiet moments.
I am thankful for coffee.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
