at the end of the day...

"...you're another day older (da dum, da dum, da dum)"

have always loved that song from Les Miserables. kind of catchy, and the harmonies are glorious. oh how i wish i could sing!!

but that's not really the intended outcome of that opening fragment...

today started out glum. very glum. i didn't wake up on time, so had no study time. it was rainy and gray. i was blue. thought about trying to write a post about something i was thankful for, but really struggled to come up with something sincere. knew i had a busy day, so just went on with it step by step. got warren dressed, headed to wellness center.

and guess what? God had planned for just what I needed (no surprise there). The sun burst through the clouds just as I rounded the curve onto Highway 45. it was beautiful! started singing "Sunny Day, chasing the clouds away...On my way, to where the air is sweet!" with Warren (yes, that's the opening song to Sesame Street, for those of you without the benefit of a 2 year old's repertoire at your disposal). he was grinning, so i grinned.

and then, at the gym, i actually had an entire lane in the pool to myself almost the whole time i was swimming! unheard of! it's typically crowded, and one usually has to share a lane with anywhere from 1-3 other swimmers and more than than of walkers. but a solitary lane? just for me? it was perfect, and just what i needed. was really able to focus, zone in (or out, if you want to look at it that way) and rejuvinate my spirits.

yea! took warren to get a blueberry donut from Connie's on my way to the church, had a great time helping out with the luncheon there, enjoyed seeing Warren having a great time playing at the church in the nursery, and overall started having a good day. and it just got better! i ended the day with a wonderful Cooking Club meeting, our last of this "season", so to speak, and it was just perfect. here's a shot of us (missing a few important members, but we'll get them in the next shot!!)

So...

Today I am thankful for God's ever faithful guidance in my life. For lifting me out of a less than thankful mood, and for watching out for me.

I am thankful for my precious child, who gives the best hugs ever made.

I am thankful for my generous and unselfish husband, who is always looking out for us.

I am thankful for the company of good friends, and the opportunity to fellowship with women of a kindred spirit.

I am thankful for a good end of the day.

so you see, at the end of the day...
it's time to go to sleep!!! it's WAYYYY past my bedtime!!!
