valentine's day

ah, valentine's day. the joys of sleeping in, being gently roused by a steaming cup of coffee brought to mom in bed, a breakfast tray of yummy pastries and delectable fruits carried in my darling husband and son, adorned with a sentimental card and lovely flower arrangement...

yeah right.

see that? yep. that was when mama got in the kitchen with babyman, leaving daddy to sleep. babyman wanted pancakes. but he did offer to help...

and here's our feast.
and here's the time it took me to get it on the table. obviously, i am NOT speedy in the morning. as my mother would say, "i may rise, but i refuse to shine".

note the two plates...daddy is still asleep. oh well. i kind of forgot to get him a present (and they DID get me one...a beautiful orchid warren picked out all by himself), so i suppose sleeping in had to count for something. Happy Valentine's day!
