While the child still enjoys pink, the latest trend has been RED. ELMO red, that is. Big Bird, Zoe, Baby Bear and the rest of the crew are pretty high up there in Warren's esteem, but Elmo is the center of his attention. So, we gave him an Elmo Birthday Party! It was supposed to be at Ballard Park so that the kids could enjoy the sunshine and slides, swing, and whatnots that the park offers...however, the weather had other plans. Warren's birthday fell right smack in the middle of our 17 days of rain, Saturday morning being no exception. Thus, the home setting. The State v LSU game was also scheduled for 11:00 that morning, thus posing a challenge to warren's 10am birthday party time. And an uncle had to work (darn hospital scheduling! who needs ER docs, anyway... :) ) So rain, conflicts, and more conflicts...no matter...the party went on!
the beautiful packaging is courtesy of warren's mimi, by the way...i just contributed the balloon to this shot!

breakfast with cousin Samantha...starting the day off right!
Posing with KiKi and Bunky, pre-birthday cake cutting...

An attempt at getting all the grandkids in one shot...attempt being the operative word. there were shortly tears shed, of course...

birthday party chaos...ball pits and slides...what more could the park have offered, you say?! (less home wreckage, perhaps?)

playing with Farrow Kate...who sang a mean rendition of Happy Birthday! way to go, 'Kate!

opening presents with daddy...

giving the new swing a test run...hopefully hanging it from a tree will facilitate a bit more room to maneuver than daddy! but A+ for effort!
there are a ton more pictures that my sister and warren's mimi took (cake cutting, eating, etc), so you may see another post later, but here's what we have for now. regardless of all the universe's conspiring, it couldn't have been a more perfect birthday.
