friday morning (yep...another one of misty's "fun friday" ideas!), we loaded up the car with the thompsons, the jones' and the eakes'...well, most of us, at least, and headed up the trace to bay springs. it was pretty crowded, but the kids unloaded and were ready to play in full force!
that's warren, hidden behind the noodles...he thought the rocks were really cool...
emma claire, harrison and william wasted no time in getting wet...3 little fishes searching for more little fishes, i believe! fish hunting was a big draw to the entire gang, although i'm not certain any were caught!
not being quite the swimmer everyone else was, warren decided to commandeer the thompson's sand castle-building tools. he was thoroughly entertained by those throughout the afternoon!
when she got tired of hunting for fish, elise reached out and made new friends with the big girls...
no worries about everyone stopping for lunch this time, though - warren stayed quite close this time, thanks to bonnie's cheetos!! soon enough it was time to head back to the water, however...
emma claire thought warren needed a shower after spending time in the sand...and what better way then lake water poured from a pink fish??but soon it was time to head home...babyman was asleep before we even got to back to the trace, i believe. well, that could have been because mama missed the turn twice, but hey - who's counting??
once home (and after an all too short nap!) mama called for a real shower - well, bath, in this case - to get rid of all that sand! what a cutie...
it was late enough in the day that i didn't worry too much about getting us dressed for company, but warren was determined he would at least be well-shod. nothing like traipsing around in daddy's house slippers!!
but all good days must come to an end...and what better way to end the night than by getting to do "airplane" with daddy!
and they all slept happily ever after...i assume! i know mine did!
It was so fun! We had a great time. What is planned for next Friday?
