bike rides, the beach, and PegLeg Pete's

there are some wonderful bike trails (paved, mind you) down the beach from our condo, so we brought our bikes with us on this trip. we had a blast racing and stopping and waiting and catching up with each other, and Warren thoroughly enjoyed breaking in his new orange bike Santa Claus brought him for Christmas. I obviously didn't get pictures while riding, but this is post ride -



and while we were there, on a less inhabited stretch of beach, we strolled across and played in the sand a bit!

this particular pose is the beginnings of my men's lessening enthusiasm with my new hobby. come on, mommy...time to go!!



that evening, all clean and showered and rested from our day of play, Ben and I got to enjoy the sunset on the patio...



...and Warren got to enjoy some Thomas the Train episodes in his new favorite chair.





and then we all went off to a dinner at PegLeg Pete's, our favorite beach-side restaurant. well, family restaurant...you can't beat the Grand Marlin for oysters! and this time, it was Warren and not me who sported the pirate patch!
