that said, it's been a quiet month. our Water Valley Christmas with the Eakes family was a high point (held in January due to scheduling conflicts!!), but i sadly got only a very few pictures. Ben had to return to the coast immediately after, but Warren and I stayed in Tupelo the following week for some upcoming appointments. and oh! what a gift we were given! it snowed...as in, accumulated! while the snow is certainly old news by this time, it is still exciting for me to recall the joy it created for us! Warren and I woke up to "oohs" and "aahhs" when i opened his drapes, and we rapidly scarfed down some breakfast before bundling up to have fun! we made snow angels, delivered our neighbors' newspaper to them, then trooped down the road to wake Amy up! luckily, she wanted to practice her photography skills on us, and gave us some amazing photos!

we built snowmen, tousled with Nate and Honeybear (Amy's 2 golden retrievers), visited with friends, sledded down the hill in our backyard, and then thawed our frozen feet out in the kitchen sink! ouch! all in all, we could not have had a better visit home. it never ceases to warm my heart when i think of the friends we've made that are still so faithful to us in our absence! praying for march, you guys, praying for march!
and now we're here in sunny Pensacola, just taking it a day at a time. warren and i rode his bike one afternoon down to the park (well, warren rode, and i walked!) and had a fun afternoon that culminated in a rapidly melting popsicle...we've been to the grocery a few times and tried out a few new recipes...gone to the gym...all in all just the normal day to day routine. both ben and warren currently are battling the sniffles and are plagued with hacking coughs, but so far I have maintained my health...and yes, i'm knocking on wood, crossing my fingers, employing any and every old wives tale trick i can to stay this way! hmmm....what else?
i guess that is it. we're headed back to Tupelo on the 5th of February, and are looking forward to another long visit home. see you then!
So glad you and Warren got to enjoy the snow - it was beautiful! I know it is hard being away from home but glad you get to visit some in the interim. Maybe it will be over soon.
